Peace On Earth?
“Peace on earth goodwill to men…”
This phrase echos through the Christmas season as we are hustling to get the best gifts, filling our bellies with food and driving through the chaotic traffic. Is there such a thing as true ‘peace on earth?’ Jesus says before he is taken at the Garden, “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you.” If it wasn’t so would Christ tell us that?
Christ has given us the receipt for the greatest thing we could ever want or need, Peace. He has told us to turn the other cheek, go the extra mile, forgive offenses, reject greed, tolerate each other’s weaknesses, live to serve and love one another as He has loved us. If every person did these steps there would be no need to fight, divorce or have restlessness.
This Christmas season let us find this peace on earth by following Christ’s instructions.
